We have grown from a dilapidated shed with a 'spit and sawdust' gym in the middle of Bulwell into a modern, growing, and trusted community hub.

Everyone knows that fitness is good for you. But at Mellish Sports Centre, we make it easy— and we’ll help you find a routine that works for your lifestyle and personal goals. Whether you’re new or a seasoned veteran, we’ve got what you need to stay healthy and feel great. Everyone is welcome at Mellish, regardless of age, gender, sexuality, or background.

We were founded back in 1993 by Richard 'Richo' Mcdonald with the purpose of being an accessible and informal fitness space, and we have carried that ethos nearly 30 years into the future, nd we hope you will click the 'our story' section at the top to read about our history. Richo, who sadly passed away in 2021; used to say everyone in the gym was 'under manners' upon entry: and to this day we promote that kind and informal atmosphere.
